Our new concept for structuring domestic space is based on our household appliances’ electrical use. Our prototype home is composed of prefab CLT panels routed for predetermined electrical needs. We've designed our home to showcase a form of spatial division based on the average annual electrical usage of appliances located within the typical rooms of a home. The rooms of the home are built on elevated platforms lifted above the floor of the shuttered Sports Authority that we've occupied to create a domestic space physically and visually separated from the building's former commercial usage.
